Hey Reader, On Fiercely Feminine Fridays, I celebrate the women who step in front of my camera. Today, I'm celebrating the mamas who begrudgingly oblige me when I tell the kids to move over because it's Mama's turn. 😂 Because listen...some of y'all FIGHT ME on this. I know it's family photo time, but you are in the family too! I know how it is. I'm a mother too. I know what it's like to be the one capturing all the memories but somehow only appear in a handful of them. You have 7,432 pictures of your babies. A million pictures of them with everybody else. And maybe 12 decent pictures with you. But how many beautiful photographs do you have of just you? It's so easy to become invisible in the grind of life and motherhood. You're taking care of everybody. And somewhere along the way, you stop documenting yourself. That's why during my fall and holiday mini sessions, I try my DAMNEDEST to get every mama in front of my camera by herself. Yes, we're getting the family photo. Yes, we're getting the babies. Yes, we're getting all the cute holiday card moments. But at some point I'm going to say: “Okay, everybody move. I need Mom.” And now that you've read this email, you're officially on notice. 😂 No fighting me. And one day, you—and those babies—will be grateful we made the photograph. Fall + Holiday Mini Sessions are officially OPEN. So, Mama... Will you actually be captured this year? It's time. You matter too.
